Do the white Gardenia shrubs ever need to be cut back? Is it normal for the foliage to die in the winter in Zone 8? Thanks!

Kayla,

They don't generally need cutting back much. A light trimming occasionally can help make them more dense. The foliage normally doesn't die in winter. Perhaps something is wrong in the roots such as soggy soil conditions due to poor drainage or some other such problem.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
