| Noelle, Your questions are difficult as there are not black and white answers. The bamboo needs full light to thrive but if you can get it about 4 hours it would probably be able to get the top up into the sun which would help a lot. The roots need at least a foot of soil and 18 inches would be better. The clump grows in time making pot culture difficult. Plus the wind would easily cause a pot grown plant to fall over. In a pot it also would not get nearly a large making my first comments much less pertinent. I would not do a pot. In the ground if you can give it a 5-10 foot diameter area that would be good. The small end of that range means in time the clump would more than fill the allotted area.
