Please recommend a few flowering shrubs to choose from that grow about 2-3 feet tall only and are heat resistant. I have an area that receives full sun from about 2:00 PM onward and I would like to plant a row of all one kind of shrub here. I do not want to prune them frequently. The size and color of flower are of less importance than the beauty of the foliage and the low maintenance of the shrub. It is near a walkway that is seldom used but needs to be green and pleasant most of the year.

I can plant these shrubs any time between now and June whenever they would be available.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Your critera really narrows your choices. I'd suggest rosemary, which has lovely blue flowers; is evergreen, and can be pruned to keep it only 2-3'; lavender, for the same reasons; or boxwood, which is evergreen and remains small without pruning but does not flower. Hope one of these suggestions appeals to you!
