We are taking over the maintenance of a large apartment complex with many new Machilus thunbergii planted next to walkways and very close to apartment building walls. Is this an appropriate plant selection for this setting? Won't these trees need MUCH more room to grow than the 4-6' diameter they were given? |
If in fact the plants are machilus thunbergii, they are definitely in the wrong place. They are fast-growing to 60 to 80 feet tall, 40 to 60 feet wide. I would move them now while they are still young and easy to move. |
