There are two types of strawberries: Ever-Bearing and June-Bearing. The types you choose depends on whether you want to preserve your harvest, or you'd prefer to eat fresh strawberries all summer. If you want to freeze or can your fruits, choose a June-Bearing kind like Earliglow or Surecrop. If you want strawberries all summer long, Tristar or Shortcake are good choices.

If you're undecided, get these three varieties and you'll have the best of both worlds: Tristar, Earliglow and Surecrop.
