The Q&A Archives: Is the thunder cloud purple-leaf plum a plum tree?

Question: Is the thunder cloud purple-leaf a plum tree And can it pollinate a bunerbank are afruit plum tree? Thank you Anthony Greene G.A.

Answer: Anthony,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Thunder Cloud is a plum but is not the edible type you are most likely familiar with. I seriously doubt that it will pollinate a burbank plum as they are totally different species.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
