where can I get wisteria and will it grow in SE Fl - Knowledgebase Question

I want to plant wisteria along the south side of my house in Port St Lucie, FL. Where can I get them and will they grow in this climate. Thanks

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Most types of wisteria need a period of cold winter temps to allow them to break dormancy and bloom well. They are not rated for your hardiness zone or heat zone. However there is a type of wisteria that can be grown that far south:

CHINESE EVERGREEN WISTERIA (Millettia taiwanensis)
