I want to plant wisteria along the south side of my house in Port St Lucie, FL. Where can I get them and will they grow in this climate. Thanks |
Sunny, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! Most types of wisteria need a period of cold winter temps to allow them to break dormancy and bloom well. They are not rated for your hardiness zone or heat zone. However there is a type of wisteria that can be grown that far south: CHINESE EVERGREEN WISTERIA (Millettia taiwanensis) The following web page has more info on it, as well as a photo: http://www.monrovia.com/PlantI... Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
