Any plant can be grown in a container if there is room for root development. As for the wind, you'll have to monitor soil moisture carefully to prevent the foliage from drying out. If this isn't possible, consider putting the containers on an automatic drip system. Use Monrovia?s Plant Catalog Search to come up with a list of plants you might be interested in. You can focus the type of plant category (shrub, perennial, etc.) and attributes (windbreak) that you want. Enter your zone. Then go to that?s plant?s webpage for more detail, and in most cases, a photo.
