| Joan, I am not sure what plant you mean by "blue juniper spruce". Junipers and spruces are very different in size and growth habit. In general if you choose a dwarf variety of juniper it should be able to be grown in a very large container. I think pots on the porch are going to be too small however. Thanks for the question.
