The Q&A Archives: Covering Yuletide Camellia

Question: Is it necessary to cover the yuletide camellia during freezing temperatures?

Answer: Melodie,

The plant can take all the cold your area gets and much more. The blooms however may burn if they are open during a freeze, so when it is in bloom cover the plant when a freeze is forecast.

The plant may suffer in the summer heat in your southern area.
