Gene,

A general purpose lawn fertilizer with a 3-1-2 or 4-1-2 or similar ratio of nutrients works best. Examples would be 15-5-10 or 16-4-9. Apply about a cup per 50 square feet in spring and early summer if the hedge lacks vigor.
