The Q&A Archives: Blueberries at the coast

Question: Will blueberries grow and fruit along the northern California coast. I have some property in Point Arena CA and would like to plant blueberries. There are huckleberries growing in the wild there.

Answer: Because of your mild climate your selection is limited, but blueberries can be successfully grown in your region. Choose Sharpblue, an early spring bearing blueberry that does not need a pollinator. If you have room for more than one plant, Bluebelle and Southland will pollinate each other.
