| Just think of your bamboo as a patch of giant grass. Bamboo spreads by stolons so the roots need to be dug and removed from the soil. Persistence is the key to complete eradication. Keep the green shoots and leaves cut down so they can't manufacture food for the roots, and dig as many of the root clumps as you can find. If you keep everything cut down as soon as it emerges, the plants will eventually run out of energy to put out new shoots. There are some hard-core vegetation killers on the market, but you'll still have to dig the roots out, so why not begin with the most environmentally friendly method of eradication? Just be persistent! |
