We have just retired to part of the old family farm. As our house is built out in the open with no close trees. With this sandy soil we have here in our area (zone 7/8 we are only 45 miles southeast of Raleigh NC) what would be appropriate plants, trees, flowers for this area. We also deal each year with fire ants. Thank you
