I love garlic and use it in cooking often I would like to grow my own. I live in San Jacinto CA and would like to know when the best time to plant is, full sun or light shade, and is it possible to grow indoors. Thank You

In your gardening region, garlic should be planted in the fall so you can harvest in the spring. It grows best in full sunshine and grows best outdoors. The bulbs begin to form in response to warmer temperatures and the lengthening days of spring. While you might try growing garlic indoors, the plants will produce tasty leaves, but bulbs will not form.
