The Q&A Archives: weeping willows

Question: My husband and I really love weeping willows we live in zone 8b and want to grow one in our front yard. can't find anything on willow trees so can u help again. Will it need a full sun area or will even grow in our climate? you know the general info. Thank you

Answer: Weeping willow will grow in Zone 8B, but it requires a lot of water or it will dry up almost immediately. You might be happier with a desert willow, a plant that can adapt to your summer weather without problem. If you decide to plant a weeping willow, plant it in full sunshine, in moist but well-draining soil.
