what is the name of the shrub like clematis that seems weeping and almost like a climbing hydrangea...clematis recta? and where can i buy it?

There are several somewhat shrubby clematis including Clematis heracleifolia, C. integrifolia, C. jouiniana, and C. recta. If you have seen and admired particular plant you might be able to ask the owner which one it is and if they know of a source for it.

You could start by checking with your local nurseries and see if they have it or can get it for you. There is a zip code based search at the Monrovia web site to help with contact information.

If your local nurseries do not carry these, you might check in a larger metropolitan area, or you may have to try mail order. Forestfarm offers several, for example.
