How do you care for blueberries and is there a particular type that does best in southern california. |
Because of your mild climate your selection is limited, but blueberries can be successfully grown in your region. Choose Sharpblue, an early spring bearing blueberry that does not need a pollinator. If you have room for more than one plant, Bluebelle and Southland will pollinate each other. Blueberries need an acidic soil so amend the planting bed with peat moss and mulch over the top of the soil with additional peat. Blueberries need full sunshine and ample water. Best wishes with your crop! |
