Is there a line of peonies that can be grown in south Texas?

Not that I know of. All peonies need a winter dormancy period of cold weather. I'm afraid that in southern Texas(zone9), you won't have enough cold to satisfy that dormancy period. You can try contact the following nursery and ask if they know ofvarieties for your location:
