I need to block out a terrible view at the end of my driveway.
I'd like something that is fast growing and gets quite tall...8 ft or so. My biggest problem is that it's semi-shady because of a large tree that overhangs my property.
I'd like some sort of a hedge. Please help!
I'm in zone 6.

Leyland Cyprus, Red Tip Photinia, Limber Pine, Austrian Pine, Japanese Black Pine, Chinese Holly and Chinese Privet are a few suggestion. "Fast-growing" is a relative term; the better you prepare the growing site and care for the trees during their first few years, the faster they should fill the space to provide a screen. Best wishes with your landscape!
