We have one white carpet rose in Avalon NJ,which is not in full sun and retains its green leaves in the winter. (1) Is this the same or similar to your No. 9573? We want to add some to our home in PA. They will be out in the open but on the north side of our house.
(2) Wiil they do well there?

I suspect the plants are very similar. These plants are very winter hardy and a little frost will not hurt them. To ensure their good health in your PA garden, you'll want to mulch them well in late fall, meaning apply a generous layer of organic mulch such as shredded bark over the root zone. If they are in a windy location, you might want to provide them with a windbreak such as a section of snow fence or a wall of burlap to slow the wind down. Also, make sure they are well watered (the soil should be moist, not sopping wet) during the fall and up until the ground freezes. If given this extra care during their first year or two in the garden, they should perform well for you. Enjoy!
