In 2003 I planted several of the Thuja X Green Giant on my property. The new growth at the top is very spindly and my question is -- Should I prune off the top to encourage a thicker growth pattern? Thank you.

This shrub should not need much if any pruning. Pruning off the top would ruin the upright shape. It should fill in naturally over time as long as it is growing in a full sun location. If it is growing in too much shade, it may grow a bit sparse but pruning would not correct that, either. You might want to double check with your local county extension and/or professionally trained nursery staff as well.
