The Q&A Archives: Topiaries

Question: Do you sell already established waxleaf privet topiaries to anyone in my area, that I could purchase from? The pictures you have on your site are exactly what I am trying to find. If you do not sell already established waxleaf privet topiaries, how do I get these hedges to look like the topiaries pictured?

Answer: Vickie,

Unfortunately we at the Q&A service don't have information on which plants are sold at the many retailers who carry Monrovia plants. Due to the seasonal nature of Monrovia's plants and limited quantities on many varieties, each garden center will offer a different array of plants. Not all plants are available in all regions at all times. Your best bet is to contact a local retailer and see if they can get the plants you are interested in.

You can create your own topiaries by selecting shoots in the area where you want a topiary ball for example to be and cutting them back to encourage branching and more fullness. Then trim away shoots from other parts of the trunk. This is a pretty brief description of how to build a topiary. More info is available on the web at sites like the following:,1...
