If I plant a White dogwood next to a Cherokee Chief Dogwood will the flower colors start 'mixing' or will the trees stay white and red respectively?

Yours is an interesting question. Fact is, a white dogwood will retain its white flowers and the Cherokee Chief will retain its red flowers, no matter how close together they're planted. Each cultivar will retain its own characteristics.
