I am in zone 6a. Is it too soon to plant pansies in a window box for spring? Also, by June it is too hot for pansies. What do you recommend for my window box. It gets part sun in the morning.

Pansies prefer to grow in cool weather so as long as the ground isn't frozen, you can plant them. You can begin planting them in window boxes in late February or early March so you can enjoy them for about 3 months before the weather turns hot. Enjoy!
