The Q&A Archives: can i divide a four year old doublefile virburnum?

Question: Can I divide a four year old doublefile viburnum?

Answer: In my experience this is too well established to attempt division, in addition these shrubs do not lend themselves to being divided. If you need another one and it is not a patented variety you could consider rooting tip cuttings or possibly even layering it. Or, you could purchase another.

Here are some instructions on how to take cuttings from shrubs. You may need to cut and paste the url into your browser to make it work correctly.

You might also consider layering.

Good luck with your project!
