Paperwhites can be planted outdoors in your gardening region but Amaryllis won't survive your winter weather outside. You can plant paperwhites in the fall and they will bloom in early spring. Amaryllis can be planted in a container and grown indoors where it will bloom during the winter months. Best wishes with your bulbs!
