The Q&A Archives: coneflower

Question: Will any of the following grow in afternoon shade/ morning sun, purple coneflower, black eyed susan, or sunset echinacea? I live in zone 5.

Answer: All three should be fine as long as it is full direct sun all morning long, if it lasts through noon that is best. If it is only four hours or so, you could certainly try them and see if you like the result. They will not flower as heavily but they will survive. Of the three, I have foung the rudbeckia to be the more shade tolerant.
