The Q&A Archives: Red Holly Pollination

Question: I have both your Robin and Cardinal red hollies. I am getting conflicting opinions from local nurseries regarding the need for a male pollinizer to produce berries. Do I need a male? If so what? I have some of the blue boy hollies close by as well. Will they suffice for the Robin and Cardinal hollies?

Answer: Rick,

The Blue Boy male should be fine for pollinating the Robin and Cardinal hollies.
