| I planted a dwarf anjou pear tree about 2 weeks ago. I realize now that it isn't centered as I would like it to be. How soon can I safely move it without causing irrepairable damage? |
| Since your tree has only been in the ground a few weeks you should be able to move it without stressing it too much. It takes longer than two weeks for the root system to become established in its new home. Choose a cool, overcast day for transplanting; dig the new hole before unearthing your tree, and move it to its new home as quickly as possible so the roots won't dry out. Be sure that it's planted at the same soil level as it was before and don't forget to water it well after moving to help settle the soil and remove any air pockets. It should be fine after the move. |
