| The keys to growing super-sized vegetables include choosing the right variety, good soil preparation, providing adequate water and nutrients, providing plenty of room to grow, monitoring pest problems, and choosing one or more of the best and largest fruits/vegetables and removing all others so all the plant's energy can be directed to that one. A good reference book is How to Grow Giant Vegetables by Bernard Lavery (Harper Collins, NY, 1995).
