| Ellen, I like the Yellow Bells (Tecoma stans) varieties 'Gold Star' and 'Orange Jubilee'. They die to the ground in winter but return in spring, reaching about 6 feet tall. For an evergreen you might try a columnar type of juniper or a clumping bamboo. Another option is to put in a trellis and plant an evergreen vine. Thanks for the question.
