| I planted a pink jasmine vine last fall, the plant did very well through the season. However, some of the vines and leaves turned brown during the winter. Now it is mid spring, new growth has begun at the plant base but the exsisting vines are still brown. Should I cut away the brown vines? Also, is there something I can do to prevent this? |
| Pink jasmine is hardy to about 15 degrees F so if your winter temperatures remained above that, I suspect the damage was due to drying winds. You can prune away the winter damage now to make room for healthy new growth. If the site is windy during the winter months you can erect a temporary wind break to keep your jasmine from suffering through next winter's chill. Best wishes with your garden! |
