Impatiens are relatively easy to care for but they are annuals and they will die out when the weather gets hot. Impatiens do best in a partly shady (morning sun or dappled light all day) location and the potting soil or garden soil should be kept evenly moist (but not sopping wet). They appreciate a water soluble fertilizer such as Miracle-Gro applied according to the label instructions (overfeeding is not better than underfeeding). Allowing them to dry out, keeping them too wet, over or underfertilizing or excessive exposure to sun can all cause problems. Follow the above guidelines and you should get several months of pleasure from your new impatiens. Enjoy!
