This will depend on the weather and on your soil. Your goal is to keep the soil evenly moist but never sopping wet or saturated. Using an organic mulch will help keep the soil more evenly moist, as well as keep down weeds. To know if you need to water, dig into the soil with your finger and check it. If it still feels damp, do not water yet. When you do water, water slowly and thoroughly. After watering, wait a few hours and then dig down and see how far it soaked, it can be surprising sometimes. You want it to soak in about six inches. I hope this helps.
