The Q&A Archives: Loropetalum chinense

Question: I have recently purchased some loropetalum (plum delight) for my sister's house but I forgot to ask if they were deer resistant. Are they?

Answer: Raven,

They don't appear on any of my deer resistant plant lists so I'd consider them to not be resistant. The vast majority of trees and shrubs are not resistant. Placing a circle of mesh wire around the new shrubs will give them a good chance to get established.
