I am starting from scratch and would like to put in new flower beds at the front and back of my home. I want to put in wallstone to make the landscape look more attractive but I don't know anything about this process. How do I go about this? The wallstone will be in front of our porch and around our deck in a basic rectangle shape so it is important that it is level and straight.Where do I begin and what am I getting into?

Generally speaking, you would dig a trench to below the frost line, add gravel to the bottom of the trench to facilitate drainage, run a string level, and begin stacking. However, if you use the precast blocks, the manufacturer should have product-specific instructions to assure you achieve the correct batter and have a solid foundation. Your local county extension and local Home Depot may also be able to assist you in designing the project. And, your local library may have books available with detailed instructions. Good luck with your flower beds!
