| Graffitti Blasters use baking powder to clean graffitti on the side of our building. Unfortunalty, it kills the grass on the side of the building. What can I do to prevent this? |
| Perhaps it would be possible to use a tarp to prevent the material from reaching the soil. In a quick search I was not able to find any other references to this particular problem. I believe they use baking soda (Soda bicarbonate) which is alkaline, so it may be raising the pH in the soil and affecting the lawn as a result, but this is just a guess on my part. You might be able to leach it down through the soil to below the level of the grass roots by watering heavily twice in succession. You would need to do this each time they blast the wall. I would suggest you contact the office that administers the program and see if they are aware this happens and have specific suggestions. You might also check with your local county extension.
