The Q&A Archives: healthy cleveland pear tree wont bloom, planted in nov 05

Question: planted 6ft tree in nov 05 as of april 06 shows no foliage. tree limbs are soft not dry there is someleaf growth at the base of the tree. i water it well . what am i doing wrong? i live in central florida. my other fruit trees have leaves. i planted them at the same time. help its has me perplexed.

Answer: Florence,

That is strange. For some reason the tree is stressed and probably just taking its time. If the branches still are bendable and not drying the tree should still leaf out in time and be fine. Try to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet.
