| What you're seeing is tender new growth which is lighter than normal. As the foliage ages it will deepen in color. It's very similar to seeing light green new growth on any green shrub or tree; as the leaves mature they will develop a darker color. Just be a little patient with your new purple leaf plum tree and you'll be rewarded with the dark purple-black color you desire. |
