The Q&A Archives: Impatiens

Question: When are impatiens available for sale at Home Depot? What about the sunpatiens that have been advertised? Thank you.

Answer: Impatiens become available in mid to late spring. Impatiens do not tolerate frost and should be planted once the soil has had some time to warm up (about when you might plant tomatoes) so they are usually available close to your last average frost date. Your local store should be able to tell you when to expect them.
