| Prunus laurocerasus 'Schipkaensis', or Skip Laurel, is one of the hardiest laurels around. They thrive in full sunshine and well draining soil. I suspect your laurels are getting too much water and soggy soil can lead to root rot. It's important to water deeply but infrequently so the soil has a chance to dry out between waterings. Try watering less frequently so your laurels can recover. If the site does not drain well you may need to dig your plants and raise the bed to facilitate good drainage, or install a curtain drain to help the soil drain quickly.
