| You can start seeds of most annuals about 6 weeks before you plant to plant them outdoors. If you start them now, they can be transplanted about the first of June. The soil and air temperatures should be warm enough in your garden to set the plants out the first week of June. Theres a finely milled peat that many gardeners use to start their seeds (Seed Starter Mix) but I've had equal success with regular potting soil. Keep the soil moist but not soggy wet when you start your seeds and water from the bottom rather than from overhead to keep your seedlings healthy and happy. Enjoy your garden! |
