If you read about the Wonder Egg plant in a newspaper supplement, it's probably Solanum melongena, a tender herbacious plant distantly related to the eggplant. If grown indoors or in a greenhouse, this plant will produce egg-shaped fruits that begin with a purplish-black color but then turn white when mature. It's more of a curiosity than anything, and is sometimes called the 'Snake Eggplant'. |
