Answer: If the sod didn't root in places, it would be best to remove and replace it with fresh sod. It won't be too difficult to remove the unrooted sod, it should just lift up without problem. If it did root (difficult to lift), it may just need additional water and fertilizer to help it green up. You can't leave strips of dead sod in your yard and seed over them - the seed won't be able to root in the ground and will end up dying when the weather gets warm. Wish there were an easier solution to greening up your lawn!
