I had my lawn dug out (due to lead) then fresh sod was laid in Oct. Not all of it took. So now I have a big dead spot in my yard but spots where the sod did take. How can I get a green lawn with out tearing the enire thing up. DO I have to tear up the sod that didn't take? |
If the sod didn't root in places, it would be best to remove and replace it with fresh sod. It won't be too difficult to remove the unrooted sod, it should just lift up without problem. If it did root (difficult to lift), it may just need additional water and fertilizer to help it green up. You can't leave strips of dead sod in your yard and seed over them - the seed won't be able to root in the ground and will end up dying when the weather gets warm. Wish there were an easier solution to greening up your lawn! |
