The Q&A Archives: weeping larch

Question: my daughter lives just so. of sioux falls s.d. she got a weeping larch last year and is concerned because it hasn't started needling out. when should it?

Answer: Larch is hardy in South Dakota and will leaf out when the weather warms. Unless it was planted in poorly draining soil and suffered over the winter from wet feet, it should green up a little later this spring. Hope so!
