How can I keep beetles from eating the fruit? My trees are covered with them before I can harvest any of the fruit.

Without knowing precisely which pest is causing the damage, I'm at a loss to suggest a control measure. I'd suggest taking a sample of the pests to your local Cooperative Extension, Master Gardener clinic, or a local nursery for positive identification. Once you've determined what you're dealing with, you can employ a control strategy. Best wishes with your plum tree!
