| Sherri, It can be done on most plants although some are naturally pretty bushy anyway. Petunias should have the old bloom shoots pinched off after they bloom to encourage more growth and blooms. Basil can be made bushier by pinching. When it starts to bloom leaf size decreases so growers may pinch off bloom stalks to keep the bush leafy so they can harvest the plants for culinary purposes. After pinching any plant give it a little fertilize and water it in well. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
