Blue spruce will grow at your elevation where the normally hot weather associated with Arizona is nearly absent. Spruce's like cool temperatures and humidity; they'll grow in full sun to part shade, in well-draining, rocky soils. Your tree will need regular irrigation while it is becoming established, so be sure to water it deeply once each week this summer. You can back off on watering this fall and beginning next spring, you should be able to get by with only two deep waterings per week. Aside from the above, your blue spruce should be happy in its new home. Enjoy!
