The Q&A Archives: trees

Question: I have a white (double)flowering dogwood tree that is about 40-50 years old that may die this season. I have been unsuccessful trying to locate a replacement. I don't know its name or where to find one. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer: If your local nurseries don't have it, you will probably need to try mail order. Greer Gardens is offering a double white flowered Cornus florida called "Alba Plena" in their catalog, for example.

Some other catalogs to check with might include
